On December 23, 2017, Mary’s Mercy Center in San Bernardino held it’s Annual Christmas Party. This event has a huge outcome every year and this year was no different. With over 1,100 children pre-registered to receive gifts, take a picture with Santa, and enjoy a meal with their families, the smiles of all attendees made it evident as to how much good Mary’s Mercy Center does for a struggling community. Over 600 adults and older teenagers also came to the event and were able to get into the Christmas Spirit by also receiving gifts. The AmeriCorps PATH members and many other volunteers from various organizations and schools proudly served the attendees by wrapping presents, serving food, and helping run and organize an additional raffle in which an entire fleet of bikes were raffled off to the huge crowd of excited children. The efforts of Mary’s Mercy Center to provide such an amazing event in the heart of San Bernardino where such a thing is necessary for the community is just one of the many services the hardworking staff at the Center do to serve the homeless and those in need within their own community.
